VVRMC Auxiliary seeks volunteers

The Val Verde Regional Medical Center Auxiliary held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 11, 2008, in the Memorial Room at Val Verde Regional Medical Center.
President Martha Markle called the meeting to order and gave the opening prayer. Vice President Gail Bonnet read the “Thought for the Day”. Lisa Stipo read the minutes from the last meeting, and Jane Schumann gave the Treasurer’s report.
Gail Bonnet, Marjie Dawson, Jane Schumann, Maria I. Barker, Mary Gerhardt, Gail Bonnet, and Virginia Bingham gave reports from Standing Committees. Special Committee reports were given by Maria I. Barker, Gail Bonnet, Jane Schumann, Lisa Stipo, Marjie Dawson, and Virgie Burke.
Maria I. Barker gave the Service Hours report for July 2008.
There were 24 members who worked 511 hours. High hour earners were Lisa Stipo with 37 hours, Jane Schumann with 36 hours and Virginia Bingham with 33 hours.
Lisa Stipo reported that there were 246 blood pressure screenings done in July. According to Jane Schumann, the Auxiliary received $95.44 in donations in July from the Wishing Well located at Plaza del Sol Mall.
Cookie Gulick announced that Masquerade would return November 24 and 25 for another “$5 Jewelry Sale”. The previous sale was such a success that the Auxiliary thought it would be a great time to provide the opportunity for the purchase of stocking stuffers and gifts for Christmas.
After the meeting, the members were treated to refreshments provided by Maria I. Barker and Mariblanca Hester.
Attending the meeting were Martha Markle, Gail Bonnet, Jane Schumann, Lisa Stipo, Maria I. Barker, Virginia Bingham, Marjie Dawson, Mary Gerhardt, Omega Zavala, Wanda Bond, Joe Bond, Peggy Rodriguez, Mariblanca Hester, Dorothy Beauchamp, Myrna Taley, Nellie Belken Virgie Burke, and Cookie Gulick, Director of Volunteers.
The next meeting will be September 8 at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Room.
The Auxiliary is looking for volunteers to work approximately 4 hours a week. Volunteers are still needed for several different roles, and anyone interested in joining the Auxiliary is invited to attend the meetings. Applications can be picked up at the Gift Shop.
