Hot Pink Ribbons Bring Awareness
Published August 17, 2008
As director of the Just US Chixs self esteem program, I get to meet a lot of wonderful people and little girls. This month we Celebrate Phenomenal Women. If you see us wearing hot pink on Fridays or the ribbons around town, trees and etc…. it is to let you know a phenomenal women or girl exist within every female. As a mother it is important for me to see my daughter grow up with good self esteem, good morals and strong values. It is important to show her that she has no control over what others might think of her and that she needs to focus on being the architecture of her own destiny.
Many ask me why I care so much to be involved with kids. I know that we are all Divine Beings with a Divine Purpose. My mission is to help girls of all ages discover the life they want to live. To let them know that big or small there is a difference only they can make.
The Pretty Girls Cheer and Dance Squad is a non-competitive squad. They cheer for themselves and cheer for a bright future. Our classes are free. They have been recognized by US Congressman Ciro Rodriguez and our Honorable Mayor Efrain Valdez. In September we open our doors in Eagle Pass. We are growing, quicker then we expected.
Pretty Girls encourage mothers and daughters to make time for each other. The Just US Chixs organization invites all mothers and daughters to become part of the Just US Chixs. A new program will begin in September. It will offer moms and daughters a chance to mingle and learn from each other. Girls will picnic, catwalk and have fun together. A Mother is the BEST FRIEND a girl could ever have. So look out for the upcoming schedules or visit www.dreamsofcrowns.com and www.justuschixs.com to keep up with the organization.
A community wide rally will be held on Friday, Aug. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Just US Chixs 120 W Losoya. We are cheering for all Phenomenal Women. Pick up your hot pink ribbons from Tuesday — Saturday from 10 a.m. — 6 p.m. To close the month we would like to invite you to the Celebrate Me event at 7 p.m. at the Paul Poag Theater on August 25.
